Here are my top 10 best face care tips. Do these things and you’ll see a noticeable difference in the look of your face. These face care tips works well for any kind of skin challenge.
-
Drink water! Lots of it. This is not what keeps skin soft and moist, but it will assist in the upkeep of general health, which of course, means it will help your skin and facial skin too.
-
Cleanse your face at least once a day and try for two times a day. To me, it’s obvious why we need to do this, but I’ll spell it out anyway. Cleansing your skin gets rid of the dirt and other elements considered hard on the skin. that can accumulate over the course of a day. Use lukewarm water when washing your skin as hot AND cold water can cause damage to your facial skin.
-
Don’t use soap on your face – unless there is absolutely no other choice. Soap dries out your face terribly when used all the time. A good rule of thumb is to only use soap from below the neck.
-
Face cleanser. Do your research and buy a good face cleanser that is appropriate for your skin type. Make cleaning your face part of your daily ritual.
-
Sunscreen! If this hasn’t been drilled into you enough, allow me to continue to drill. Sunscreen, sunscreen and more sunscreen! Put it on your face EVERY DAY! Rain or shine or clouds – it doesn’t matter. Harmful UV radiation gets through any kind of weather and can seriously damage your skin on your face and other unprotected areas of your body. I cannot harp enough about this. Lots of makeup and daytime moisturizers have SPF protection built right into them. This is good! You’ve heard it, but know that without proper protection from the sun, you could get skin cancer. It’s so very preventable!
-
Be gentle with your face, after all it’s the only face you’ve got! Don’t overuse exfoliants or scrubs – once a week is plenty. Also, no need to be so enthusiastic about your new skin products that you slather on too much. That will just clog up your pores or cause a build up that you don’t need.
-
Do your best to keep your face as moist as possible. Dryness of your facial skin causes the outer layer break out and this can cause the skin to take on a rough or scaly appearance. Use moisturizers with emollients. Moisturizers seem to work the best when they are applied while your face skin is still damp from cleansing.
-
If you have a particular facial skin challenge, make sure you treat it with care. Go to a dermatologist if you need to, get a facial once in a while, treat your face with the respect it deserves.
-
Sleep and exercise. It’s good for your overall health, but it’s also good for your facial skin. When you don’t get enough sleep each night, it can lead to the beginnings of lifelong wrinkles. And if you are not exercising enough this can cause your skint to look slack and droopy. It helps beat back the stress too – which almost always shows in a person’s face!
-
Beat the stress. As mentioned before, stress shows up on your face. Take a break. Have a cup of tea. Take a nap. Sit and meditate. Do whatever you need to do to lessen the stress in your life. Your face will love you for it!
How’s that for my top 10 best face care tips?
