Not heeding this bit of advice could land you with a real skin problem instead of your desired beautiful, healthy look.

Some Symptoms of Sensitive Skin
Though sensitive skin in itself is not a medical condition, it can be a sign of underlying conditions that cause various symptoms such as rosacea, eczema, psoriasis, acne, or allergies.

Many people attribute these symptoms to merely “sensitivity” and never realize real problem. A good face care tip to follow is, if you have a persistent condition, you should seek medical advice from a dermatologist to find out what type of skin care and health measures you should take.

Some sensitive skin symptoms that can occur include rashes and itchy irritation with the use of certain products, tightening of your skin, a tingling sensation, skin reactions to emotional stress, breakouts after shaving, redness, drying, hives, excessive blushing, or irritation after short-term or long-term exposure to the sun.

Causes of Sensitive Skin
There are lots of causes of sensitive skin. These causes vary from one person to the next. Both men and women alike suffer from sensitive skin and sometimes sensitive skin causes are merely genetic.

If you are a blusher or have itchy, dry skin, or if you are prone to get freckles or sunburn easily when exposed to the sun for a just a short time, your condition may be hereditary. Sometimes allergic reactions can also be attributed to genetics.

What about the foods you eat? Some people have reactions to what they eat. My son, for example, can’t eat raw carrots without his mouth swelling up. He has no problem with cooked carrots, but in the raw state, it affects his lips and inside his mouth.

Even caffeine, some spices, and sometimes hot liquids may cause a skin reaction. Your skin could potentially be sensitive to certain cosmetics or skin care and health products. Other causes can be medication, stress, or even environmental factors such as windy or very cold weather.

Treatment for Sensitive Skin
Treatments may vary for sensitive skin and facial skin. The best treatment for your skin is to avoid products or activities that could cause a reaction. If you know certain skin care and face care products cause your skin to break out in irritation or a rash, just avoid using them.

If you know which foods you’ve eaten that cause a reaction, common sense says, avoid those foods. Even if you’re not sure what’s causing the reaction, a good face care tip is to keep a diary of activities, foods, and products used and make a quick  note each time a reaction happens.
