Face Care Tips: Moisturizers
We here, at Face Care Tips realize that what we might consider to be an obvious choice of using moisturizer every day on your face – sometimes gets put on the back burner of our busy lives. However, this post serves as a reminder of how important it is to use moisturizer everyday.
Skin care product provide and ample amount of choices for the different types of skin and how they help. For dry skin like mine, I like to use SkinMedica Dermal Repair Cream. It’s worked great for me and I feel as if I’ve taken a few years off of the look of my face.
Moisturizers serve a couple of purposes: 1) to soften skin and 2) to help keep moisture just under the outer layer of skin. This gives the appearance of freshly hydrated skin and it makes your face feel better too. Even if it’s only temporary.
3 Areas to Moisturize
The 3 main areas to use moisturizers are:
1. The area around the eyes
2. The facial skin
3. The skin on your neck
These 3 areas all have different characteristics and reason why they need to be moisturized. Therefore, one type of moisturizer doesn’t always work for the eyes, skin and neck. Then you have to keep in mind what type of skin you have? Is it dry, normal or oily? Basically, what I’m saying is most of us would do much better if we used the proper moisturizer for each area listed above.
The skin around the eyes is the most delicate and for this reason moisturizers for the eyes are lighter in texture than those used for the face.
Most people will use a different eye moisturizer than the one they will use on their face.
Leaving moisturizer on your skin throughout the day means you really should take the time to test a variety of samples of products until you find the one that is most suitable. You can usually ask for samples at most cosmetic counters to help you determine which moisturizer works the best for each area on your face.
Even though prices for various moisturizers can cover a wide range, it’s really important to use quality products. Having said that, it is true that you get what you pay for, but you can also find good quality products that don’t cost you an arm and a leg.
